Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Kampala to the Primate Capital of Kibale

Your journey begins early this morning as your dedicated Saventra Safaris guide picks you up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. Leaving the city pulse behind, you will head west toward the historic town of Fort Portal. Watch the landscape shift into vibrant trading centers, rolling green tea plantations, and misty hillsides. After a relaxed lunch in Fort Portal, continue to the edges of Kibale National Park. Spend your evening listening to the ambient sounds of the jungle waking up as you prepare for tomorrow’s primate encounter.
  • Drive Time: Approximately 5–6 hours.
  • Meals: Lunch and Dinner.

Day 2

Chimpanzee Tracking & Journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up to the echoing calls of the rainforest. Following an educational briefing at the park headquarters, you will venture deep into the emerald canopy with an expert ranger. Kibale protects over 1,500 chimpanzees, and finding them is a sensory thrill. You will hear them first—a chorus of distant hoots and pants escalating into a crescendo before you spot them swinging gracefully through the branches. Spend one awe-inspiring hour observing their complex social interactions up close.
After the trek, enjoy a warm lunch before taking a short, scenic drive south across the equator to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The landscape transforms into sweeping savannahs framed by volcanic fields. Wind down your day with an introductory evening drive around the dramatic explosion craters, watching the sunset dip below the savannah.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 3

Savannah Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Safari

Set out onto the golden Kasenyi plains at sunrise, tracking prides of lions, solitary leopards, and herds of Uganda kob when they are most active. This is prime time for predators; your expert guide will help you spot elephants moving through the golden grass and buffaloes wallowing in the craters.
Return to the lodge for a midday rest and a warm lunch. In the afternoon, experience the ultimate park highlight: a 2-hour boat safari along the Kazinga Channel. This natural waterway links Lake Edward and Lake George and boasts one of the highest concentrations of hippos in the world. Watch elephants drink at the water’s edge, Nile crocodiles bask on the banks, and countless waterbirds dive for fish just meters from your boat.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 4

Early Morning Savannah Search & Return to Kampala

Enjoy a final morning game drive as the sun rises over the plains, capturing any last-minute wildlife frames. Following a hearty breakfast, pack your bags and begin your return journey toward Kampala or Entebbe.
Stop along the way for lunch and pause at the official Uganda Equator crossing for a celebratory milestone photo, a classic water experiment standing in two hemispheres at once, and a final chance to pick up hand-crafted local souvenirs. Arrive back in the capital by late afternoon or early evening, carrying memories of an unforgettable wilderness escape.
  • Drive Time: Approximately 6–7 hours.
  • Meals: Breakfast and Lunch.
