Leaving the city hustle behind, you will journey southwest through a changing tapestry of rural towns, green hills, and sprawling tea estates. Stop for a relaxed lunch in the scenic town of Fort Portal, nestled in the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains.
From here, descend into the Great Rift Valley, arriving at Queen Elizabeth National Park by late afternoon. Wind down your day with an introductory evening drive around the dramatic explosion craters, watching the sunset dip below the savannah.
  • Drive Time: Approximately 6–7 hours.
  • Meals: Lunch and Dinner.

Day 2

Savannah Game Drive and The Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Wake up to the cool morning breeze of the savannah. After an early coffee, head out for a sunrise game drive along the Kasenyi tracks. This is prime time for predators; your expert guide will help you spot lions returning from their night hunts, elusive leopards, and herds of elephants moving through the golden grass.
Return to the lodge for a midday rest and a warm lunch. In the afternoon, embark on the highlight of the park: a 2-hour boat safari along the Kazinga Channel. This natural waterway links Lake Edward and Lake George and boasts one of the highest concentrations of hippos in the world. Watch elephants drink at the water’s edge, Nile crocodiles bask on the banks, and countless waterbirds dive for fish just meters from your boat.

Day 3

Search for Tree-Climbing Lions & Return to Kampala

After a hearty breakfast, pack your bags and head south toward the remote Ishasha Sector, globally famous for its unique population of tree-climbing lions. Following a rewarding morning search, you will begin your return journey toward Kampala or Entebbe. Stop along the way for lunch and pause at the Uganda Equator crossing for a classic photo opportunity and a chance to pick up hand-carved local souvenirs.
