Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Entebbe/Kampala to the Primate Capital of Kibale

Your journey begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe by your dedicated Saventra Safaris guide. Leaving the city pulse behind, you will head west toward the historic town of Fort Portal. Watch the landscape shift into rolling green tea plantations and misty hillsides. After a relaxed lunch, you will arrive at the edges of Kibale Forest National Park. Spend your evening listening to the ambient sounds of the jungle waking up as you prepare for tomorrow’s primate encounter.
  • Drive Time: Approximately 5–6 hours.
  • Meals: Lunch and Dinner.

Day 2

Chimpanzee Tracking & Journey to Bwindi's Edge

Wake up to the echoing calls of the rainforest. Following a briefing at the Kanyanchu park headquarters, you will venture deep into the emerald canopy with an expert ranger. Kibale protects over 1,500 chimpanzees, and finding them is a sensory thrill. You will hear them first a chorus of distant hoots and pants escalating into a crescendo before you spot them swinging gracefully through the branches. Spend one awe-inspiring hour observing their complex social interactions up close.

After the trek, enjoy a warm lunch before starting the scenic drive south toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will pass through quiet villages and dramatic mountain gaps, arriving at your lodge in time to watch the fog roll over the ancient canopy.

Day 3

The Ultimate Gorilla Trekking Experience

This is the moment that redefines travel. After an early breakfast, gather at the park briefing station to learn about gorilla etiquette and meet your tracking team. Bwindi holds nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Accompanied by experienced trackway scouts, you will step into the ancient jungle, navigating thick vines and tangled pathways. The hike can be physically demanding, but the reward is entirely unparalleled.

Suddenly, your guide parts the leaves to reveal a wild gorilla family resting, playing, and feeding just steps away. Spending an hour in the presence of these gentle giants watching a silverback protect his family and infants tumble through the brush—is a profoundly humbling experience. In the afternoon, unwind with a gentle community walk to support local traditions, or simply relax at the lodge sharing your stories

Day 4

Farewell to the Forest & Return to Kampala

Enjoy a slow breakfast on the edge of the forest as the sun clears the mist. Today, you will begin your return journey across the equator line, heading back to Kampala or Entebbe. Stop along the way for a delicious lunch and a quick visit to the local craft markets at the Equator crossing for structural souvenirs. You will arrive back in the capital by late afternoon or evening, carrying memories of faces, places, and wildlife encounters that will stay with you forever.
  • Drive Time: Approximately 8–9 hours.
  • Meals: Breakfast and Lunch.
