Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Entebbe & Gear Calibration

Your creative journey begins the moment you land at Entebbe International Airport. A welcoming representative from Saventra Safaris will transfer you to your boutique lodge on the shores of Lake Victoria. Spend the afternoon unboxing gear, calibrating lenses, and enjoying a briefing on the unique lighting conditions of the African wilderness.
  • Meals: Dinner.

Day 2

Shoebill Stork Photography & Transfer to Ziwa

Wake up early for soft morning light at the Mabamba Wetland Sanctuary. Board a narrow wooden canoe to navigate narrow channels lined with papyrus. This is the prime habitat of the legendary Shoebill stork. Capture dramatic frames as this giant bird hunts lungfish in the shallows. In the afternoon, drive north to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an evening landscape shoot.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 3

Eye-Level Rhino Tracking & Murchison Falls

Step onto the savannah at sunrise to track endangered southern white rhinos on foot. Accompanied by expert rangers, you can safely approach these prehistoric giants, allowing you to use compression lenses for powerful, close-up portraits. After lunch, continue your journey north into Murchison Falls National Park, arriving in time to shoot the sun setting over the iconic River Nile.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 4

Golden Hour Delta Safaris & Thunderous Nile Cruise

Dedicate your morning to the northern delta tracks, where golden light illuminates towering Rothschild’s giraffes, elephants, and lions. Your custom safari vehicle features large window openings and a pop-up roof for stable panning. In the afternoon, board a private river boat heading toward the base of Murchison Falls. Capture high-shutter-speed frames of the crashing water, yawning hippos, and massive Nile crocodiles lining the banks.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 5

Top of the Falls Landscapes & Transfer to Kibale Forest

Venture to the Top of Murchison Falls to shoot dramatic landscape frames. Capture the exact moment the entire River Nile forces itself through a tiny 7-meter gorge, creating a permanent mist filled with vibrant rainbows. Following this sensory shoot, begin a scenic drive southward along the Albertine Rift Valley, passing terraced green tea estates before arriving at the edges of Kibale National Park.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 6

Low-Light Chimpanzee Photography & Bigodi Birds

Enter the emerald canopy of Kibale Forest, the “Primate Capital of the World.” Tracking wild chimpanzees requires fast lenses (f/2.8 recommended) and high ISO settings to handle the dappled rainforest light. Spend one hour capturing the fast-paced action, grooming rituals, and intense facial expressions of our closest relatives. In the afternoon, shoot colorful avian species, including the Great Blue Turaco, at the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 7

Crater Lakes Panorama & Queen Elizabeth National Park

Spend a slow morning photographing the mist rising off the dramatic volcanic explosion craters surrounding Fort Portal. These ancient cones offer unparalleled panoramic landscape opportunities. Afterward, cross the equator line to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Conclude your day with an evening game drive across the Kasenyi plains to capture predators on the prowl.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 8

Sunrise Predatory Search & Kazinga Channel Water-Level Shoot

Set your alarm before dawn to catch lions and elusive leopards returning from their night hunts. The soft, horizontal golden hour light provides the perfect contrast for animal portraits. In the afternoon, embark on a private boat safari along the famous Kazinga Channel. This water-level perspective allows you to frame elephants drinking, pods of hippos fighting, and vibrant skim birds cutting through the water.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 9

Tree-Climbing Lions of Ishasha Sector

Journey south into the remote Ishasha Sector, globally famous for its unique tree-climbing lions. These majestic cats spend the hot hours of the day draped lazily across the wide branches of ancient sycamore fig trees. Photographing lions looking down from a green canopy offers a rare, artistically striking composition that sets your portfolio apart.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 10

Terraced Highlands to Bwindi's Misty Rainforest

Capture final morning frames in Ishasha before ascending into the dramatic Kigezi Highlands, often called the “Switzerland of Africa.” Photograph the vast, hand-terraced green hillsides that curve sharply against the skyline. By late afternoon, you will reach the boundary of the ancient, misty Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 11

The Ultimate Mountain Gorilla Photography Trek

This is the pinnacle of your visual safari. After a thorough park briefing, enter the prehistoric jungle with specialized trackers. The trek through dense vines can be physically challenging, but the reward is entirely unmatched. When you find the gorilla family, you will spend one intense, magical hour capturing portraits. Frame the deep, intelligent brown eyes of a giant silverback patriarch or the playful acrobatics of tiny infants tumbling through dark green ferns.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 12

Authentic Batwa Portraiture and Lake Bunyonyi

Dedicate your morning to environmental portraiture and cultural storytelling during a private session with the indigenous Batwa people, the original keepers of the forest. Capture the rich textures of their faces, traditional clothing, and ancient fire-making techniques. In the afternoon, drive to Lake Bunyonyi to photograph its 29 emerald islands enveloped in mystical evening fog.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 13

Equator Crossing Souvenirs & Farewell to Uganda

Enjoy a final sunrise shoot over the quiet waters of Lake Bunyonyi before starting your return journey to the capital. Pause at the official Uganda Equator crossing for a celebratory lunch and final landscape shots of the open savannah corridors. Arrive back in Entebbe by late afternoon or evening for your international flight home, carrying memory cards filled with world-class wildlife imagery.
  • Drive Time: Approximately 7–8 hours.
  • Meals: Breakfast and Lunch.
