Leaving the urban landscape behind, you will journey westward through a shifting tapestry of rural towns and green hills. Stop for a relaxed lunch in the historic town of Fort Portal, nestled under the shadow of the Rwenzori Mountains.
In the afternoon, enjoy a breathtaking drive through the nearby volcanic crater fields, stopping at scenic viewpoints overlooking deep emerald lakes. Continue to the borders of Kibale Forest National Park, arriving at your boutique forest lodge in time to enjoy a quiet evening surrounded by the ambient evening chorus of the jungle.

Day 2

The Chimpanzee Trekking Experience & Bigodi Community Walk

Wake up to the echoing calls of early morning forest life. Following a hearty breakfast, transfer to the Kanyanchu park headquarters for an educational briefing on chimpanzee tracking etiquette and forest conservation. Accompanied by an expert park ranger, step directly into the dense, prehistoric canopy. Tracking wild chimps is a sensory thrill; you will likely hear their distant, thunderous pant-hoots escalating through the trees long before you see them.
Once found, spend one magical, uninterrupted hour observing our closest wild relatives as they groom, play, feed, and swing effortlessly through the branches. Return to the lodge to unwind and enjoy a fresh lunch.
In the afternoon, discover the rich human and natural stories of the region at the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. On a guided boardwalk trail, you will look for up to eight distinct species of primates (including the rare Ugandan red colobus) and vibrant birds like the Great Blue Turaco, all while supporting sustainable community projects.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 3

Forest Morning Melodies & Return to Kampala

Enjoy a final morning coffee looking over the misty rainforest canopy as the sun clears the tree line. After a slow breakfast, pack your bags and begin your return journey eastward through the rolling tea plantations and rural landscapes of western Uganda.
Stop along the way for a delicious lunch, arriving back in Kampala or Entebbe by late afternoon or early evening. You will return home carrying deep connections, local stories, and a profound appreciation for one of Africa’s most vital wild sanctuaries.
